Fred C. Tenover

Fred C. Tenover is Distinguished Research Professor of Microbiology at the University of Dayton in Ohio. He previously served asVice President for Scientific Affairs at Cepheid and Consulting Professor of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Cepheid, he served as Associate Director for Laboratory Science in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion Division and Director of the Office of Antimicrobial Resistance at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He was also Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology in the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. His research focuses on antimicrobial resistance mechanisms and novel molecular diagnostics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, the Infectious Disease Society of America, and the International Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. He has authored over 360 peer-reviewed journal articles and has edited 10 books.
