I was born in Izmir in 1973. I graduated from Ege University School of Medicine in 1997, and then completed the PhD program in Medical Parasitology in Manisa Celal Bayar University. I have been working in Acibadem University in Istanbul since 2013. My research interests are the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases in general, particularly on leishmaniasis, intestinal parasitosis, and the roles of eukaryotes in microbiota. I am an active member and old Executive Board member of Clinical Parasitology Study Group of ESCMID, and Turkish Societies of Microbiology and Parasitology. I have more than 100 published articles in international, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
