Prof Dr. Nuran Salman completed her higher education at Istanbul Medical Faculty, Department of Pediatrics, and her specialization at Hacettepe Medical Faculty, Institute of Pediatrics. She was named Associate Professor in 1984 and Professor in 1992.
Between 1981-2000, she worked at Istanbul Medical Faculty, Department of Pediatric Infection, Clinical Immunology and Allergy. Between 1987 and 2017, she was the head of the Department of Infection and Clinical Microbiology at the Institute of Child Health. In 1986-1987, she was assigned to U.C.L.A. University in the USA for 1 year in the Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology in Infection Immunity.
She served as a founding and board member of the Antibiotic and Chemotherapy (ANKEM) association, KLIMIK association and the Pediatric Allergy and Asthma association. She has been the president of the Istanbul branch of the Pediatric Infection Society 2012-2017. Prof. Dr. Nuran Salman is retired from Istanbul University since 2017 and continues to give consultancy in various medical subjects. She is married (Prof. Dr. Tansu Salman) and has 3 grandchildren.
