Miki Nagao is a director and professor of infection control team and clinical laboratory department in Kyoto University Hospital. She was born in Ankara, Turkey and grew up in Japan and UK. After graduating from Nagoya University , Japan, she worked as a respiratory specialist, and later honed her skills as an infectious diseases physician. Miki specializes in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology and is responsible for antimicrobial stewardship program in Kyoto University. The principal areas of her research are infection prevention strategies for nosocomial pathogens, molecular epidemiology of multi-drug resistant organisms and clinical laboratory medicine.
