ISAC aims to advance the education and the science of therapy of infection through the establishment of an international federation of affiliated national and regional societies with similar aims and objectives to those of ISAC. ISAC now has 95 Member Societies around the world which in turn have over 60,000 individual members.
ISAC currently has 22 Working Groups on specialist subjects including the Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics (APUA). ISAC Working Groups are engaged in advancing scientific knowledge in antimicrobial chemotherapy, clinical microbiology and infectious diseases through various activities: Peer Reviewed Publications Symposia, Consensus Conferences, International Surveys, Collaborative Research, Development and Implementation of Professional Guidelines.
The Society is governed by its Trustees, Executive Committee and Council. The ISAC Council consists of the Executive Committee and representatives of ISAC Member Societies and meets at least every two years during the society’s biennial congress – the International Congress of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ICC).
ISAC has recently established the ISAC Academy – a free e-learning resource hosting content from ISAC, its Member Societies and organisations with common interests.
Visit the ISAC website for more information, or follow ISAC on social media for all ISAC and ICC updates.
