I was born in 1969 in Seydişehir, Türkiye in 1969. I became a practitioner after graduating from GATA medical faculty in 1993 and worked as a general practitioner between 1994 and 1996. I performed my fellowship at GATA Haydarpasa Training Hospital, Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology in Istanbul during 1996-2000. I worked as an infectious diseases specialist at Sivas Hospital during 2000-2003. I became an assistant professor in Gulhane Academy in 2003, and an associate professor in 2006. I founded the Infectious Diseases International Research Initiative (ID-IRI), a global clinical research platform on infectious diseases and related disciplines in 2008. I was the chief of the Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department at GATA Haydarpasa Hospital in Istanbul between July 2014 and July 2015. I got full professor title in 2015 and worked at various positions since then.
